equipping every follower of Jesus to share their faith
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
What is the Gospel?
The gospel is the good news about what Jesus Christ has done to reconcile sinners to God.
- The one and only God, who is holy, made us in His image to know Him (Genesis 1:26-28).
- But we sinned and cut ourselves off from him (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23).
- In His great love, God sent His Son Jesus to come as king and rescue His people from their enemies—most significantly their own sin (Psalm 2; Luke 1:67-79).
- Jesus established His kingdom by acting as both a mediating priest and a priestly sacrifice—He lived a perfect life and died on the cross, thus fulfilling the law Himself and taking on Himself the punishment for the sins of many (Mark 10:45; John 1:14; Hebrews 7:26; Romans 3:21-26, 5:12-21); then Jesus rose again from the dead, showing that God accepted His sacrifice and that God’s wrath against us had been exhausted (Acts 2:24, Romans 4:25).
- God now calls us to repent of our sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for our forgiveness (Acts 17:30, John 1:12). If we repent of our sins and trust in Jesus Christ, we are born again into a new life, an eternal life with God (John 3:16).
The GO Team's Mission
Our heartbeat at Crossroads church is to make disciples that represent the gospel to every man, woman, and child. We believe this to be true in our local expression of the Church in Columbia, SC and also to the ends of the earth where the gospel has not been preached.
The GO Team's desire is to glorify Jesus by encouraging and equipping every follower of Jesus so that they are able to share their faith in Jesus and to make Christ following disciples. We go out to do this each Saturday morning. All are welcome to join The GO Team and no experience is required. We'll train and equip you to be able to engage people and share your faith. We will also, each time you join, partner you with a more experienced GO Team group and leader so that you will always be supported.
If you'd like to learn more about The GO Team, join the email distribution list, or join us on a Saturday morning, please email kyle@columbiacrossroads.org
